Description
This lesson is the seventh in our ten-part series on The Tudors.
Here, we look at the tensions between England and Spain, which reached their peak when King Philip II of Spain launched the Spanish Armada in 1588. We will discuss what went wrong for Philip when he sent his armada to attack and complete mapwork on the routes the armada took.
Your child will learn the differences between the Spanish galleon and English galleon and answer knowledge and understanding questions to explain why Philip decided to attack and use a map to explain what went wrong for him.
They will also write a short article for a history magazine on the armada, using suitable pictures and diagrams to support them which they will gather from completing their own research alongside their own knowledge from the lesson.
