Who will be king – The Normans Lesson 1

£3.49

This lesson is the first in our ten-part series on The Normans.

Focusing on the time period immediately before the 1066 invasion, this lesson starts with the Saxon king’s death in January of 1066 and looks at the consequences that followed. We will discuss the four contenders for the throne, who wanted to be king and why, and examine a scene from the famous Bayeux Tapestry (which we will visit again later in the series).

In this lesson, your child will use their knowledge and understanding of what they have learned to decide who they think has the strongest claim to the throne, demonstrating their decision-making skills and reasoning abilities to support their choice, then follow a campaign for that chosen contender as events unfold.
